COB Packaging Technology for UV LED Modules

Our UV LED modules use Chip-on-Board packaging technology, which directly mounts LED chips onto high thermal conductivity substrates such as metal-core PCBs or ceramic bases. By allowing direct heat dissipation through the substrate, COB dramatically reduces thermal resistance, ensuring excellent heat management.

Thanks to its high radiant flux per unit area, COB-packaged UV LED sources achieve remarkable light density and enable extremely high UV radiant flux output on a very small emitting surface. This fully meets market demands for high power density UV applications, from industrial curing to medical sterilization.

 

Inorganic Packaging Technology for UV LEDs

We also incorporate inorganic packaging technology for even higher performance and reliability. This design features a ceramic holder combined with a metal structure and a quartz or sapphire window. Using laser seam welding, the quartz/sapphire window is hermetically sealed to the ceramic carrier, forming a closed air cavity around the UV LED chip. This effectively isolates the chip from external moisture and contaminants, greatly improving the lifetime, stability, and reliability of the UV LED device.

 

Eutectic Bonding for UV LED Modules

Additionally, our UV LED modules utilize eutectic bonding — a soldering technique based on low-melting-point alloys. The LED chip is bonded to a copper-gold–plated substrate using eutectic solder. This metal-to-metal connection significantly improves the thermal and mechanical performance of the LED device, ensuring robust, long-lasting operation even in demanding industrial conditions.
